        LedaFlow is the product of ten years of innovative development by SINTEF sponsored, guided and supported by TOTAL and ConocoPhillips, now commercialised and developed further by Kongsberg. LedaFlow is based on models that are closer to the actual physics of multiphase flow and provides a step change in detail, fidelity, quality, accuracy and flexibility over existing multiphase flow simulation technology. LedaFlow has been extensively validated against the best available and most comprehensive experimental data sets to ensure that the models are as representative as possible. LedaFlow is designed with an intuitive user interface to ensure that productivity is improved and with a comprehensive relational database to ensure that all cases are stored and readily available.

- Detailed modelling: The LedaFlow® 9-field approach includes detailed dispersion models for water and oil and gas
- Multi-temperature approach: Separate energy balances for each of the zones gives improved temperature and heat-transfer predictions
- Three momentum equations: Separate momentum equations for gas, oil, and water improve the calculation of the division between oil and water making up the liquid hold-up
- Non-equilibrium modelling: The non-equilibrium modelling concept inherent in LedaFlow® is crucial for the simulation of fluid flow in wells (including intelligent wells), well start-up, and well stability issues
- Fluid properties: From its earliest development, LedaFlow was designed to have an open and flexible interface with fluid properties.  Fluid properties can be derived from the simplest constant properties models, Black Oil models, or an imbedded physical properties package. It can be linked externally to standard format PVT tables or directly to third-party physical properties packages.
